A cultural and historical project

The Älvsborg pond – in Gothenburg better known as Plaskis – at the Maria Square in Majorna is being renovated. The iconic pond, a natural meeting place for Gothenburg residents since the 1930s, is now being refurbished to meet future demands for function, safety and sustainability.

Inhouse Tech is acting as structural designer and the project is being carried out in collaboration between the City of Gothenburg and Svevia. The work includes a completely new pool, modern water treatment technology, a new pump house, improved lighting and new green areas. A new technical building is being constructed in harmony with the site’s architectural language, while the original symmetry is preserved to safeguard the cultural and historical value of the pool.
