Train travel in Sweden is on the rise. As the number of passengers increases, more stabling tracks are required. The Swedish Transport Administration’s project “Uppställningsspår Lärje” contributes to this by establishing a stabling facility for local and regional trains in Lärje just north of Gothenburg. To access the new area, a new bridge needs to be built – a structure designed by Inhouse Tech.
The project is being carried out as a turnkey contract where Inhouse Tech acts as a subcontractor to Peab, which in turn has the Swedish Transport Administration as the client. The team is designing a bridge that will span tram lines 4, 8, and 9 at Alelyckan between Gamlestaden and Hjällbo. The assignment includes the development of a permanent structure over the tramway in the form of a trough and a bridge. In addition to the bridge, a temporary base slab was constructed to support a portal spanning across the tramway, enabling preparatory works for the casting while train services continued uninterrupted.
The assignment for Inhouse Tech commenced in March 2024. The casting of the bridge deck took place on 17 June 2025. According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the stabling facility in Lärje is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
